I am looking into buying an Exabyte also and was wondering what
was the model # of the 7 gig tape drive.  I am also looking at
DEC's DLT tape backup which will do 20 gigs and its faster than
others on the market, but costs $6Gs or so.

Also you mentioned that you did not get stuttering in playback.
Are you using 9 gig drives and if so are you using Standard or
extended Play.

I was told that my Flyer was defective so I sent it back &
borrowed another that was fine and I am still getting stutters.
Newtek told me I was getting stutters because I was using a 9
gig (Mic 1991) in the Standard play, and they Newtek was only
reccomending the Quantum 2 gigs for Standard play.
